GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team defeated Queens University of Charlotte, 3-1, Tuesday night at Fleming Gym. This was the seventh-straight match at home for the Spartans.
UNCG won with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 18-25, and 25-20.
Junior
Taylor Robertson paced the Spartans with her second-career double-double tallying a career-best 17 kills and 10 digs. She was one of three Spartans with double-digit kills and one of three with double-digit digs.

"The team was really there for each other tonight. It's easy to take big swings when you have the trust that someone is there to cover you. After the third set, we knew we had to take it up another level and we did just that. I'm really proud of how everyone played tonight."

How it Happened:
- UNCG dominated the first and second sets with hitting percentages over 0.400, swinging 0.429 and 0.406, respectively.
- The Spartans saw its largest lead of nine, 18-9, during the first frame. The Royals came within four, 20-14, before UNCG went on a 5-2 run to win 25-18.
- Queens saw its first lead of the match 1-0 and tied it seven times, but the Spartans prevailed closing the frame with a 6-1 run to take set two, 25-18.
- The Royals saw their highest hitting percentage of 0.353 during the third set which they took 25-17. Five of the Royal's Abbey Criser's 10 kills came during the third set.
- The Spartans' Sierra Herndon had all four of her kills as well as one of UNCG's five service aces in the fourth set. UNCG won 25-20 to take the win.

The Spartans compete away from Fleming Gym for the first time this season, as they head east to compete in the Elon Tournament from Friday, September 9 to Saturday, September 10. UNCG will face Florida A&M on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and then battle NC Central at 2:00 p.m. and Elon at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
