College Soccer News 2022 Top 30 Men's Teams
GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the first time this season the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team is in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll earning a No. 19 ranking.
The Spartans were receiving votes last week in the poll and climbed to 19th this week in the third installment. The No. 19 ranking matches the highest ranking from last season.
UNCG also moved up in the United Soccer Coaches South Region to No. 5 sandwiched between ACC opponents Louisville at No. 4 and Pittsburgh at No. 6.
In the College Soccer News Top 30 Poll, UNCG climbed to No. 22.
Currently the Spartans are leading the country in goal differential (14), total goals (17), total points (48), and won-lost-percentage (1.000). They are also second in points per game (12.00) and scoring offense (4.25). UNCG is fourth in total assists (14), eighth in assists per game (3.50), 10th in shots on goal per game (17.00), 21st in shots per game (21.00), and 24th in (0.529).
Most recently, UNCG dominated High Point with a 5-1 victory over the Triad foe. This win was the first over the Panthers since October 11, 2008 when the Spartans won 2-0 at home. UNCG scored its second most goals against High Point, as the Spartans scored six in 1971 against the Panthers.
UNCG is rolling with a 4-0 start with all four wins coming at home. This is the best start to the season under Head Coach
Chris Rich. It is also the best start since 2004 when the Spartans went 19-3-1.

The Spartans hit the road for the first time this season traveling to Richmond, Virginia to face VCU on Saturday, September 10 with a 7:00 p.m. start time.
