ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Sophomore
Julia Baeumken led the way placing third, as the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team completed the final round in the French Broad Collegiate, on Tuesday, Oct. 31
st at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove golf course.
Baeumken who carded a one-under-par (70) score in the third round, made her the only Spartan with an under-par effort. Following five birdies on the back nine, she continued to shine carding two birdies on the front nine to finish the tournament nine-over-par (222).
Ava Romfo and
Elle Burnette finished 19-over-par (232) after three rounds, to place tied for 21
st. Burnette posted back-to-back birdies on holes two and three.
Grace Holcomb concluded the final round with a score of nine-over par on the day, after posting a birdie on hole three to finish tied for 27
th.
Alexandra Phelps carded two birdies, one on the back nine and one on the front totaling 10-over-par (81). Phelps collected a score of 24-over-par (237) for the tournament to finish 31
st.
UNCG posted a score of 66-over-par to finish the tournament tied for fourth. The Spartans placed 39 strokes ahead of The Southern Conference foe Wofford who placed ninth with a score of 105-over-par.
