GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team hits the road for the first time since November 26, as the Spartans will battle Sun Belt foe Marshall on Saturday, December 16 with a start time of 7:00 p.m. at the Cam Henderson Center.
UNCG is off to its best start in program history with its 8-1 record.
UNCG is on a seven-game win streak which began with the program's first ranked win against No. 14 Arkansas, 78-72 in Fayetteville and continued with the 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship title. The Spartans came back from The Bahamas and defeated William Peace, 88-56, Eastern Kentucky, 87-85 in overtime, and Elon, 82-73.
This is the longest win streak for the Spartans since the 2020-21 season when UNCG won seven straight and punched a ticket to the 2021 NCAA Tournament. UNCG's 4-0 record at home matches the start from the 2021-22 season.
UNCG is 8-1 overall this season, while Marshall is 3-7. The Spartans are currently ranked No. 4 in the latest collegeinsider.com Men's Mid Major Top 25® and sixth in the Field of 68 Cinderella Top 25 poll.

This will be just the third matchup between the two teams with the series tied, 1-1. UNCG won the most recent game against the Thundering Herd on December 13, 2022, 75-67 at the Greensboro Coliseum. Marshall took the first win on November 3, 2006, 82-80.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- UNCG's 82-73 victory over Elon on Sunday gave the 2023-24 team the best start in program history.
- Mikeal Brown-Jones scored a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds for his second-career double-double.
- Brown-Jones also chipped in a career-best four blocks.
