HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf junior
Victoria Cook led the Spartans with a 27th-place finish as the Spartans placed 11th overall at the end of the Low Country Intercollegiate at Moss Creek Golf Club. Due to Saturday's weather and poor course conditions, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes.
Cook finished the final round with a seven-over-par (79) for a 36-hole total of 16-over-par (160). The junior carded three birdies in her final round effort beginning at the par four, 344-yard second hole. Two of Cook's birdies came on the back nine, the first on the par five, 468-yard 11th holes. Cook also carded a birdie on the par three, 102-yard 17th hole. Cook finished in a tie for 27th, one shot outside the top 25.
Grace Holcomb and
Ava Romfo each finished with a 36-hole total of 17-over-par (161). Holcomb carded an eight-over-par (80) final round effort. The sophomore carded a birdie on the par four, 268-yard 16th hole. Romfo posted a 10-over-par (82) final round effort with eight-straight pars on the front nine.
The Spartans placed 11th with a 36-hole total of 66-over-par (642) after a final round 32-over-par (320) team scorecard. UNCG stood four shots from a tie for ninth place and six shots off seventh place while collecting advantages over Southern Conference foes The Citadel and Wofford.
