BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fell to Gardner-Webb, 3-1, in a pitcher's duel on Tuesday evening.

Daniel Cerda hit his third home run of the season in the top of the ninth for UNCG's only run of the game. Cerda went 2-for-3 on the day, hitting the Spartans' only hits of the day.Â

It was a pitcher's duel with both teams going scoreless for the first three innings.

Gardner-Webb scored first putting two runs on the scoreboard off a RBI double from Nate Anderson and a sacrifice fly to the center field from Pete Capobianco.

The fifth and sixth innings went scoreless as
Price King pitched three innings allowing zero runs and only two hits.
Â
The Runnin' Bulldogs added one more run in the bottom of the seventh when Capobianco scored off a throwing error for a 3-0 advantage.
