GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team shut out The Citadel, 3-0, in a Sunday afternoon game at the UNCG Baseball Stadium in Southern Conference (SoCon) action.
Senior 
Zack Budzik went 2-for-4 at the plate with one run scored, one RBI, and a stolen base. With the two hits today, Budzik reached 200 career hits. According to UNCG baseball records, Budzik is the first Spartan to reach the 200-career hit milestone since 
Greg Hardison'22, who had 240 hits in his career. 
 
Junior 
Ryan Rouse pitched six innings striking out a career-best six batters. He allowed only two hits, no runs, while facing 24 batters for his second win of the season and career.
 
Sophomore 
Kennedy Jones hit his seventh home run in the season and 18th of his career, in the bottom of the eighth.
 
How it Happened
 
Both teams went scoreless in the first two innings before 
Daniel Cerda scored on Budzik's two-out RBI single to left field for a 1-0 lead.
 
It was a pitching battle between the fourth and the seventh, with the score remaining 1-0.
 
In the bottom of the eighth, Jones' home run gave the Spartans a 2-0 advantage. Then, with one out Budzik singled to get on and later stole second. He moved over to third with 
Mitchell Smith's single up the middle and then gave the Spartan's a 3-0 lead on 
Luke Jenkins' fielder's choice RBI. 
 
Rouse retired the side in the top of the ninth to hold on to the win and the shutout over the Bulldogs.
