Dosi Jonas hit his 10th home run of the season following Budzik's homer. Jonas went 4-for-4 at the plate, and was one of six Spartans with multiple hits. GC Jarman was 3-for-3, Daniel Cerda went 2-for-5, Jones swung 2-for-3, Mitchell Smith hit 2-for-4, and Luke Jenkins went 2-for-4.

UNCG's 16 hits against BYU was the 15th game this season totaling 10 or more hits and fifth game with 15 or more hits.

How It Happened

UNCG took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first after Jones crossed home on Jonas' RBI single to left field. Jonas then ran home after Jarman singled to first base.

BYU scored six unanswered runs between the first and second innings for a 6-2 advantage. Two of the six runs came from solo home runs from Austin Deming and Ryan Sepede.

With Jonas on the second base following a double to left center, Jenkins hit a single up the middle adding a run to the Spartans' score, 6-3.

The Cougars continued to have multi-run innings, including another five-run third inning, a three-run fourth inning, and a five-run fifth inning.

UNCG was scoreless in the fourth and sixth, but had a four-run fifth inning, which included Budzik's and Jonas' home runs and six-straight hits from the Spartans offense, cutting the deficit to seven, 14-7.

The Spartans kept the Cougars from scoring in the sixth and UNCG added one more run in the top of the seventh as Jarman scored off a wild pitch before BYU retired the side for a 19-8 victory.
