Men’s Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match to Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team broke up its schedule with a non-conference match against in-state rival Davidson Saturday afternoon, where the Wildcats won 6-1 at the Knobloch Tennis Center.
 
Davidson won the first doubles point of the afternoon at the number one spot, claiming victory 6-2. The Spartans duo of Christopher Johns and Tymofiy Khrystyuk tied the match up with a 6-4 win at the number two slot for their second-straight win and eighth overall victory this season.
 
The Wildcats and Spartans went into a tiebreaker at number three doubles, where Davidson secured the win 7-6 (7-5).
 
Davidson continued the match winning singles on courts four, two, three, one, and six, in that order. Three of the five went in straight sets, while singles one and three went three sets.
 
UNCG won its lone singles match as Devon Moskowitz won the first set 6-2, then Davidson's Nico Pinzon bounced back with a 7-5 second set win forcing a third set, where Moskowitz ended up on top, 10-6, winning his fourth match of the season.
