GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team dropped game two to Wofford at the UNCG Baseball Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 13-3.
Zack Budzik hit his third home run of the season, to bring
GC Jarman home for a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth for a last chance scoring opportunity.
How it Happened
Wofford's bats got hot in the first inning after scoring two runs off one hit, for a 2-0 lead.
Both teams went scoreless in the second and third innings with
Grant Aycock only facing six batters.
The Terriers had explosive fourth, fifth, and sixth innings scoring eight runs on seven hits.
Luke Jenkins hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth, scoring
Mitchell Smith from third for the Spartans' first run for UNCG, 6-1.
Wofford sealed its win after scoring three runs in the top of the ninth on a ground out, a double, and a sacrifice fly, extending its lead to 13-1. Budzik's homer came in the bottom of the ninth for the Spartans' last chance effort to cut the deficit, 13-3.
