ALAMANCE, N.C. -The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf powered through its first and second rounds on Monday in its season opener to lead the 15-team field at the Elon Women's Invitational in first place at Alamance Country Club. The Spartans have a two-round total of 575, which is three strokes over host Elon (578) and five shots over Radford and William & Mary (580).
Junior
Grace Holcomb posted a two-under-par (140) performance in the 36-hole day, to tie for first after two rounds. Holcomb posted a team-low score of 69 in the second round.
With a score of one over par,
Julia Baeumken tallied a score of 143 to place tied for seventh after rounds one & two. She moved up the leaderboard with her one-under-par (70) performance during round two.
As an individual Freshman
Elle Burnette is tied for 18
th place at four-over-par (146). Sophomore
Alexandra Phelps is also tied for 18th through 36 holes.
Senior
Victoria Cook and Junior
Ava Romfo round out the Spartans' score by tying for 33
rd at seven-over-par (149).
