ALAMANCE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team finished the final round in its season opener at the Elon Women's Invitational tied for second place on Tuesday. The Spartans tied with the host team Elon, both with a three-round total of 868. Beating the Spartans was Radford in first place with a three-day total of 864.
Junior
Grace Holcomb posted her career-best finish tied for second, making par (213) in the 54-hole tournament. She tied with Elon's Annabelle Ackroyd.
Posting a score of four-over-par (217),
Julia Baeumken tied for eighth after all three rounds. Freshman
Elle Burnette, who entered as an individual finished her first collegiate tournament tied for eighth.
Finishing the third round with two-over-par (73),
Alexandra Phelps tied for 19
th in the tournament.
Senior
Victoria Cook moved up the leaderboard with her two-over-par score of 73 performance during round three to tie for 29
th.
Ava Romfo rounded out the Spartans' score tallying a score of 223 to tie for 32
nd.
