GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team and No. 2 West Virginia will face off on Tuesday night in non-conference action at the UNCG Soccer Stadium with a start time of 7:00 p.m.
The Spartans enter the contest 1-5-3 overall, while the Mountaineers are 6-0-2 overall and 0-0-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. West Virginia is currently No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches poll, No. 3 in the College Soccer News national poll, and No. 7 in the TopDrawerSoccer national poll.
The Spartans and Mountaineers have met three times before this meeting with West Virginia leading the series 2-1. UNCG defeated West Virginia in 2006 when the Mountaineers were No. 6, 2-1 in overtime. West Virginia shut out UNCG 1-0 in 2015 and 2016.

SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
- Last season, West Virginia went 7-7-4 overall and 3-1-4 in the conference.
- West Virginia was voted to take third in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll.
- The Mountaineers have had six shutouts and a 0.750 shutout percentage this season, which is fourth in the nation.
- West Virginia is nationally ranked 10th in save percentage (0.850), 15th in goal differential (10), and 19th in fouls per game (9.38).
- Defensively, the Mountaineers are allowing just 0.38 goals per game, which is fourth best in the country.
- Sophomore Marcus Caldeira leads the team and is second in the nation with seven goals, while Yutaro Tsukada has a team-high three assists.
- In net, Lee Jackson has given up three goals and has tallied 17 saves in the eight games started and played.
The Spartans take a few days off before hitting the road for three-straight matches. UNCG will begin The Southern Conference (SoCon) play on Saturday, September 30 against Furman with a start time of 7:00 p.m. in Greenville, South Carolina.
