GREENSBORO, N.C. –  The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team will open The Southern Conference (SoCon) slate on Saturday, September 30 battling the Furman Paladins with a start time of 7:00 p.m. at Stone Stadium. This will begin a three-game road stretch for the Spartans.

The Spartans enter the contest 1-6-3 overall, while the Paladins are 4-3-1 overall. This will be the first conference game for both teams.

SPARTAN QUICK HITTERS

• The Spartans most recently fell to No. 4 West Virginia, 2-1 on Tuesday. UNCG held the Mountaineers scoreless for 47 minutes, while West Virginia gave up its first goal in 297 minutes of play. This was UNCG's third ranked opponent of the season.

• Last season, Furman went 7-7-4 overall and 1-3-1 in the conference.

• Dylan Lane and Jake Raine each earned Preseason All-SoCon honors.
• Diego Hernandez was named to the TopDrawerSoccer SoCon Top Freshman to Watch List, while Raine was selected as a SoCon Top Player to Watch.
• Hernandez was also named to TopDrawerSoccer Preseason Freshman Best XI List.
• The Paladins most recently fell to Davidson, 3-1 at Stone Stadium. Furman has faced three ranked teams including Clemson, Duke, and Wake Forest, falling to each one.
• Christian Kraus is leading the team with 12 points (4 G, 4 A).
• Dylan Lane is second with seven points (3 G, 1 A).
