GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 contest to UNC Wilmington on Sunday afternoon in the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
To start off doubles play,
Raegan Mitchell and
Olivia Gallagher dropped a 6-1 matchup with Elif Albayrak and Arli Eda on court one.
Ella Olexa and
Sydney Bly finished up next on court three taking a 6-2 loss to Alicia Eberwein and Stela Joksimovic.
With UNC Wilmington already clinching the doubles point,
Juliana Craft and
Lauren Thomson came away with a 6-3 victory over Alex Borcich and Ana Parker Shumate on court two.
Luna Urso finished the first singles match of the day in a 6-2, 6-2 loss with Albayrak on court four.
Craft came just behind Urso dropping a close battle with Joksimovic, 7-5, 6-3 on court two.
The Seahawks were able to clinch the match with Katelyn Hubbard claiming a 6-2, 6-2 win over Mitchell on court three.
Gallagher came just in behind to fall 7-5,7-5 to arli on court one.
The Spartans were able to claim the final two singles points. The first going to Thomson in a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Eberwein on court five. The second point went the way for Bly, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 over Lucia Gomez to close out Sunday's matchup.

The Spartans will continue at home by hosting ETSU for The Southern Conference (SoCon) opener on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. in the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
