WEST PALM, FLA. – Junior
Ava Romfo of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team concluded the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate tied for fifth at the conclusion of the three-round tournament at Hammock Creek.
TEAM
- The Spartans tied for ninth overall with William & Mary with a 66-over-par (930) score.
- Jacksonville State and Elon tied for the team title with a 33-over-par (897) final score.
- Morehead State rounded out the top three with its 35-over-par (899) performance.
INDIVIDUAL
- Romfo maintained her position tying for fifth with her final round score of four-over-par (76).
- Her three-round score of six-over-par (222) put her in a two-way tie for fifth. She made three birdies in the third round to bring her total to eight.
- Freshman Elle Burnette fell four places from round two tying for 22nd and finishing with a 15-over-par (231) performance. She totaled five birdies during the tournament.
- Junior Grace Holcomb climbed seven spots on the final day of competition following her third-round score of five-over-par (77).
- Holcomb tied for 28th overall totaling 17-over-par (233).
- Senior Victoria Cook tied for 46th place with a three-round total of 21-over-par (237).
UP NEXT
The Spartans will take some time off before traveling to Humacao, Puerto Rico to compete in the Puerto Rico Classic from Tuesday, March 5 to Thursday, March 7. The tournament will be held at Palmas del Mar Flamboyan and will be hosted by Ball State.
