CONWAY, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team closed its trip to South Carolina, dropping a neutral site contest to Charleston, 5-2 at the Stevens Tennis Complex on Saturday.
Charleston was able to start off the contest by claiming the doubles point. On court two,
Luke Thomson and
Hampus Johansson dropped a 6-2 matchup with Matias Gaedechens and Juan Die Rojas Mora.
John Gabelic and
David Flisberg came just in behind on court one, falling 6-2 to Mattia Bernardi and Eddie Vo to give the Cougars the doubles point.
Charleston responded by starting off singles play claiming the first two matches. Gabelic was able to put UNCG on the board on court four, 6-2, 6-3. Johns came in adding another point for the Spartans on court six, 6-2, 9-6, 1-0 (11-9). However, the Cougars bounced back claiming the next singles point to earn the match, 5-2.
