GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team claimed a 5-2 win over Queens on Saturday at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
The Spartans started off the contest in a dominating fashion by claiming all three doubles matches.
Olivia Gallagher and
Sydney Bly earned the 6-3 win over Audrey Serb and Nyany Grace Tomegah on court three.
Juliana Craft and
Lauren Thomson came in right after, earning a 6-3 victory over Lucy Hogan and Jessica Maras for the Spartans to clinch the doubles point.
Alexandra Dodashev and
Arina Babkova rounded out doubles play with a 7-5 finish over Andreea Onitoui and Katsiaryana Tuliakova on court one.
Gallagher opened up singles action with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Onitoui on court three. Queens was able to get on the board after Maras claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win over Dodashev. Craft came back to earn her match over Hogan, 6-2, 6-3 on court four giving the Spartans the 3-1 lead. On court one, Babkova dropped her 6-3, 6-1 contest with Tuliakova giving Queens its second and final point of the day. Thomson clinched the match for the Spartans on court five after claiming a 6-3, 6-1 win over Tomegah. Bly added on more point for UNCG on the day, 6-1, 6-3 on court six, giving the Spartans the 5-2 victory over the Royals.

The Spartans will continue in Greensboro by hosting Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the location currently scheduled at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
