GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team claimed the final game in the series against Binghamton on Sunday, 6-3 at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
For the first time in the three-game series, Binghamton got on the board first after scoring one run in the second inning and another in the third, taking the 2-0 lead over the Spartans heading to the bottom of the third. With no outs and the bases loaded,
Caleb Cozart grounded into a double play forcing
Zachary Walsh home to cut the deficit to one (2-1).

The Spartans added another run in the fifth inning after
Jake Ogden singled through the right side, sending
Jeremy Wolf home to tie the game at two runs apiece.

UNCG put up a staggering four runs in the bottom of the sixth. With bases loaded with walks from
Brantley Truitt, Walsh and Wolf, Cozart stepped up to bat sending a homer to right center on a 2-0 pitch count for four RBI (6-2).

The Spartans held the 6-2 lead until Binghamton added one more run in the top of the ninth. However, it wouldn't be enough to come back, giving UNCG the 6-3 victory.
NOTES:
- Cozart's home run was his sixth of the season, just one behind his season record of seven home runs last season.
- Cozart recorded a total of five RBI, his season high is six.
- UNCG collected a total of seven hits in the game.
- Winning pitcher, Rob Ready and closer, Noah Chapman combined for a total of zero walks and six strikeouts.
- Wolf and Walsh led the Spartans with two runs apiece.
- Ogden and Jacob Budzik paced UNCG with two hits apiece.
