GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 battle at Longwood on Monday at the New Lancer Courts.
Longwood was able to get on the board first in the contest after claiming all three doubles matches for the 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
The Lancers continued their momentum by earning the first two singles matches. However,
Raegan Mitchell was able to hold off the home team from clinching the match after she gained a 6-4, 6-2 win over Kashmira Manohar on court six.
Arina Babkova followed right in behind to get the 7-5, 6-3 victory over F. Can Ejkelenburg on court one, giving UNCG its second point of the day. Longwood was able to close out the match by gaining the next two singles points. Despite this,
Alexandra Dodashev put up a fight against Oriana Izarra on court two, but ultimately Izarra claimed the win 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).
