HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf junior
Ava Romfo won her first collegiate tournament with a final score of three-under-par (213). The Spartans placed sixth overall after three rounds of play.
TEAM
- The Spartans placed sixth overall with a 32-over-par (896) scorecard.
- Florida Golf Coast took home the team title with a one-over-par (865) performance.
- The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Western Carolina finished with a 12-stroke advantage over the Spartans, placing fifth, while Wofford took home seventh overall with a 45-over-par (909) performance.
- UNCG and Western Carolina finished play with 36 birdies each, finishing tied for fourth among the 12-team field.
INDIVIDUAL
- Romfo stayed on top of the leaderboard through three rounds and earned her first collegiate title.
- She had a career-best round on the first day with a score of five-under-par (67).
- After posting an even score for round two, Romfo went two-over-par (74) in the final round and holding onto first place.
- She was one of five competitors who concluded the tournament under par.
- Romfo tied for first with 12 birdies. She was tied with five competitors.
- She was also second among the field with a 4.33 par-five average.
- Elle Burnette concluded the tournament tied for 26th and a final score of 10-over-par (226)
- Anna Bowman stayed tied for 39th shooting 15-over-par (231).
- Grace Holcomb climbed 12 spots during the final round of play, tying for 49th with a score of 18-over-par (234).
- Julia Baeumken finished play tied for 52nd overall.

The Spartans head to Hilton Head, South Carolina to play at Moss Creek in the Low Country Invitational, hosted by Wofford from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17.
