GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team fell in a 5-2 contest with Elon on Wednesday night at the UNCG Tennis Courts to close out the 2023-24 home slate.
Elon was able to tally the first point of the day after earning all three doubles matches with scores 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.
The Phoenix continued their momentum into singles play by collecting the first three singles wins to clinch the match. However,
Tymofiy Khrystyuk was able to grant the Spartans their first point of the day after defeating Veljko Krstic, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (3) on court one. Elon claimed its fifth point despite
John Gabelic putting up a hard-fought battle with Oskar Antinheimo on court two, ultimately going Antinheimo's way, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (4).
Hampus Johansson, on court six, was the final match of the day picking up his first win of the season (not sure if you have career) with scores of 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (8). However, Elon was able to walk away with the 5-2 victory.
