SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell in a 5-2 matchup to Wofford on Sunday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center.
Wofford claimed the first doubles match of the day, but
Lauren Thomson and
Juliana Craft was able to bounce back by claiming the second doubles matchup in a 6-4 win over Catherine Blouin and Emely Kahrs on court three. However, the Terriers notched the third doubles match to head into singles play with the one-point advantage.
Wofford tallied the first two singles points for the 3-0 advantage. However, Thomson was able to keep Wofford from clinching the match after defeating Kahrs, 7-5, 6-2 on court four. Brianna Wilbur decided the match for the Terriers after claiming a three-set battle over
Olivia Gallagher, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
Raegan Mitchell recorded another point for UNCG on court five after defeating Grace Agster, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4. Wofford responded by claiming the final singles point on court one for the 5-2 victory over UNCG.
Thomson's singles win on Sunday was the ninth of the season for the freshman as she continues to pace the Spartans with a 9-8 record.
