GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) Intercollegiate Athletics is excited to announce a new partnership with Tri-State Steel awarding a male and female student-athlete of the week honor.
"I am very excited about this partnership with UNCG Athletics and to recognize those Spartans that are willing to put in the work," stated Tri-State Steel President Steve Scott. "Often in the business world, it is not about who is the smartest or who has the most natural talent. It is about the person who is willing to do all the things the right way. So Tri-State Steel wants to start celebrating those student-athletes who outwork the others and give them the recognition they deserve. It is about the grit in the classroom, the weight room and on the playing surface. It is about being authentic and consistent, showing up on time and choosing to be a well-rounded representative of their university, their team and the UNCG athletic department. These are the students that businesses like ours want to hire after graduation."
Tri-State Steel Student-Athletes of the Week will be named each week throughout the athletic season. The student-athletes will be recognized via UNCG social media platforms and uncgspartans.com
