LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- UNCG went 1-2 in its last weekend of non-conference play by hosting the Greensboro Invitational.
- The Spartans claimed a 3-1, win over Georgetown, but fell to Tennessee Tech, 3-1 and Marshall, 3-0.
- America Anderson stood out at the net for UNCG with 11.0 total blocks.
- Madeline paced the team offensively with a .488 hitting percentage. On the week, Timmerman recorded 24 kills, three aces, eight digs and 8.0 total blocks.
- Gragg led the Spartans as the setter with 101 assists and a 9.18 assists per set average on the week. The sophomore recorded two double-doubles on Friday with 33 assists and 11 digs against Tennessee Tech and 46 assists and 12 digs in the team's win over Georgetown.
ABOUT THE SPARTANS
- UNCG heads into its first weekend of SoCon play with a 5-7 mark on the non-conference schedule.
- Freshman outside hitter Allie Sweet is pacing the SoCon in five statistical categories: attacks per set (12.56), kills per set (4.27), points (213.5), points per set (4.74), total attacks (565) and kills (192). Sweet's 565 attacks puts her at fifth in the country, while her 192 kills ranks her at 11th nationally.
- Sweet was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2 in the first round of weekly awards for the 2024 season.
- Izora Gragg is third in the conference with a 9.89 assists per set average and 445 assists on the season.
- Madeline Timmerman leads the SoCon with a .420 hitting percentage. Madeline paces the squad with 41.0 total blocks and 15 aces.
- Chloe Nussbaum stands out as the libero with 168 digs on the 2024 season.
- Head Coach Felicia Turner is in her second season at the helm of the UNCG volleyball team in 2024.
- Assistant Coach Trent Dunahoo is in his second season with the Spartans, while Assistant Coach Justin Paggao was added to the coaching staff in the summer of 2024.
- UNCG was picked to finish ninth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- The 2024 squad features seven returners and 10 newcomers (five freshmen and five transfers).
SCOUTING ETSU
- The Bucs concluded their non-conference schedule with an 8-4 overall record.
- ETSU swept its final weekend of non-conference play at the Queen City Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Bucs defeated North Carolina Central, 3-2, Charlotte, 3-1, and Queens, 3-0.
- ETSU is ranked second in the conference across four categories: aces per set (1.75), blocks per set (2.52), win-loss percentage (.667) and team blocks (110.5).
- The Bucs are leading their opponents in kills (545-454), assists (490-418), digs (603-590) and blocks (110.5-76.0).
- Reese Rhodes is leading the squad with 398 assists and 18 service aces.
- Amanda Lowe stands out on the outside with 138 kills.
- Melanie Morris and Abbey Thomas are leading the team on the defensive end with Morris having 143 digs and Thomas with 48.0 blocks.
- ETSU was picked to finish sixth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll with one first-place vote.
SERIES HISTORY VS ETSU
The Bucs lead in the overall series against the Spartans at 33-12. ETSU went 3-0 against UNCG last season with the last matchup coming in the first round of the SoCon Tournament, 3-1, in Johnson City, Tennessee.

- The Paladins concluded their non-conference schedule with a 6-5 overall mark.
- Furman most recently took a 3-0 loss to Clemson in Greenville, South Carolina, to finish their non-conference stanza.

- Emily Navarro is pacing the squad as the setter with 208 assists.
