GREENSBORO, N.C. – Brian Mackin, Director of Athletics at UNC Greensboro (UNCG), has been named Chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Oversight Committee for the 2025-26 academic year.
 
Mackin has served on the national committee since the 2022-23 academic year. His committee term as Chair is through August 2028 and will now lead its work overseeing the Division I Men's Soccer Championship, including team selection, tournament operations, site selection and policies to advance the sport.
 
"I am excited to be the Chair of the combined Men's Soccer Oversight and Selection Committee and lead the transition of the combined groups," stated Mackin. "Men's soccer is trending up and with the World Cup coming to the United States in 2026, this should enhance the visibility and interest of the sport."
 
ABOUT THE NCAA DIVISION I MEN'S SOCCER OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
The committee is charged with overseeing the Division I men's soccer championship, including the selection of teams, development of policies and championship management.
