Dovlo and Haruna Selected in 2026 MLS SuperDraft

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior Enzo Dovlo and sophomore Issah Haruna of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team heard their names called during the 2026 Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Thursday night. 

Dovlo was selected 12th overall by Atlanta United FC after recording 10 goals and eight assists this season. Harunafollowed shortly after, being taken 20th overall by Orlando City SC. This is the first time since the 2023 MLS SuperDraft that two UNCG Spartans have been picked. They are the fourth and fifth Spartans under the guidance of sixth-year Head Coach Chris Rich to be selected to the MLS SuperDraft. 

"Congratulations to both Enzo and Issah," said Rich. "We are so incredibly proud of them and thrilled for them to earn this opportunity. Also, congrats to Atlanta United and Orlando City. They drafted great kids, elite competitors and top players. This is great for both of them, but also great for the program. To have two players drafted in the top 20 is certainly a great accomplishment! Both Issah and Enzo are family to me, and it means a lot to see them take this next step in fulfilling their dreams."

"Being drafted by Orlando City at 20th overall is truly an honor and a dream come true. It represents years of hard work, sacrifice, and belief. Playing under Coach Rich at UNCG shaped me both as a player and as a person. He pushed me to grow, stay disciplined, and compete at a high level every day. I'm extremely grateful for my time at UNCG and for everyone who supported me throughout this journey."

"I scouted Issah in Ghana and he was the best player I saw while I was there. We were very lucky to land him and have him come to UNCG. While here he has become family and a bedrock of our culture. He has accomplished a lot in his two years as a Spartan, and we are so proud of him moving up into the professional ranks." 
 
UNCG finished the year with a 12-5-6 overall record and a third-place finish in The Southern Conference (SoCon) Regular Season standings at 3-2. The Spartans battled their way to theSoCon Tournament Championship game, before losing in double overtime to Furman, 1-0, on Nov. 16.  

UNCG then earned its 11th bid to the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, as an at-large selection. This was the Blue & Gold's third at-large selection with the two previous being in 1998 and 2004.   

In the NCAA Tournament first round, UNCG tied Triad opponent Elon in the First Round and advanced 4-3 in penalty kicks. The Spartans then drew at No. 2 Virginia in the second round, 2-2, and clutched the victory after a 4-3 result in penalty kicks. The win at Virginia was UNCG's highest ranked win on the road in DI history. However, UNCG's seasonended in the Sweet Sixteen round with a 2-0 loss at No. 15 NC State.
