CROSS COUNTRY SEASON RECAP
  • The men's team finished first at the Blue & Gold's Spartan Classic in October. Sophomore Logan Ruffner and freshman Luke Hühn finished first and second, respectively.
  • The men's third-place finish at The 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships matched last year's result of third place, which was the best mark since the 2011* season when UNCG was crowned champion. This is the sixth* time in program history that UNCG has finished third or better.
  • Hühn led the charge with his time of 25:24.8 in the eight-kilometer run. He finished 12th out of 79 competitors. Hühn earned SoCon All-Freshman Team honors, Second Team recognition and was voted, by the coaches, as the SoCon Freshman of the Year.
  • He is just the second** SoCon Freshman of the Year for UNCG since Paul Katam earned the honor in 2011.
  • Junior Khalid Abdullahi also finished in the top 20, placing 18th with his time of 25:45.9. Abdullahi bested his mark from last year, where he finished in 50th place.
  • The men went on to compete at the 2025 NCAA Division I Southeast Regionals and placed 22nd out of 33 teams. This matched the Spartans' result from 2024.
  • Abdullahi paced the Blue & Gold, in his first NCAA Regional, placing 113th out of 240 competitors in the 10-kilometer race. Abdullahi clocked in a time of 32:13.4.
  • The women's squad finished third at its own Spartan Classic in October, where five from the team placed in the top 20 out of the field of 102 competitors.
