CARY, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team fell 4-3 while facing the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Cary Tennis Park.
The Eagles led early in doubles after collecting a 6-3 victory on court two. After
William Elmers and
John Gabelic teamed up to even it with a win on court two, 7-5, the Eagles secured the doubles point with a win on court one, 7-5.
UNCG and NCCU each earned a trio of victories during singles action. The Spartans got wins from Elmers, 7-5, 6-4,
Devon Moskowitz, 6-4, 6-2, and then Gabelic, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, to conclude the day. However, the Eagles clinched the 4-3 victory after winning the first match, 6-2, 6-4, the third match, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, and the fifth match, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
