GREENVILLE, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell 7-0 in its 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) opener on Thursday afternoon at Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

Mat Iandolo. "They competed very well today and we just could not get them out of their comfort zone in singles."
The Paladins got the scoring started by gaining the doubles point for the 1-0 lead. Ellie Schulson and Sara Snyder notched the first match of the day in a 6-2 win over
Alexandra Dodashev and
Olivia Gallagher on court one. At doubles court three, Alexa Griffith and Grace Thomas collected a 6-1 victory over
Elisabeth Birkevold and
Lauren Thomson, granting Furman with the 1-0 advantage.
Raegan Mitchell and
Sydney Bly recorded a 6-4 win over Jess Dawson and Macy Hitchcock before heading into singles action.
Dawson secured the 2-0 lead for the Paladins after defeating Thomson on court three, 6-0, 6-0. Schulson continued the momentum in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Mitchell on court four. Snyder clinched the match for Furman in a 6-0, 6-4 win over Gallagher on court one for the 4-0 advantage. Hitchcok earned Furman's fifth point of the day after defeating Bly, 6-0, 6-3 on court five. Thomas claimed a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Birkevold on court six before Marissa Pennings defeated Dodashev, 6-0, 6-3 on court two to grant Furman with the 7-0 victory.
