SERIES HISTORY VS. ETSU
Tuesday marks the 23
rd meeting between the Spartans and Buccaneers, UNCG trailing 7-9-6 in the overall standings. In the last seven meetups since 2021, the series is 3-2-2 in favor of the Spartans; ETSU holds the most recent win, however, downing the Blue & Gold 2-1 in Johnson City last season.
SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
A 1-3 start to the season for Head Coach Allen Vital and company has given way to a 6-3-4 start since, the Buccaneers arriving in Greensboro unbeaten in their last four. ETSU has maintained four straight clean sheets but has also failed to find the back of the net in the past two outings against Mercer and Furman at the other end.
Midfielder Jaime Carrillo is the Bucs' offensive engine, having racked up eight goals (second most in the SoCon) and two assists for 18 points. Freshmen Gavin Dick (5G, 5A) and Joe Gonzalez (4G, 2A) have become immediate contributors for Vital's program, while sophomore Elliot Edwards joins Carrillo as a force in the midfield with five goals and three assists to his name as well.
Despite being outshot 223-211, surrendering double-digit shots in 13 of them, the Bucs have produced six clean sheets this season and outscored opponents 25-21. Recently crowned SoCon Defensive Player of the Week Noé Delmotte has produced 63 stops in 14 games between the sticks, and owns four of ETSU's shutouts this season.
LAST TIME OUT FOR UNCG
UNCG drew with Furman in a thrilling return to Greensboro, a 1-1 finish that featured 38 total shots. Twenty-three attempts (seven on goal) from the Spartans was a season-high, the Blue & Gold denied several times by superb goalkeeping from grabbing a win in the second half after
Mathis Robinand netted from the penalty spot.
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

A two-time Second Team All-SoCon selection and All-Freshman selection, Hernandez has been a key part of two NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 runs and three SoCon titles during his time in Greensboro.
No. 26, Mohammed Sumaila | Tamale, Ghana
- Sumaila has made 55 appearances for UNCG, making 41 starts as a member of the Spartan back line. A 2024 SoCon All-Freshman selection, Sumaila has notched three assists for the Blue & Gold was a key piece in the team's run to the Sweet 16 in 2025, playing in all 23 games for UNCG.

WHERE THINGS STAND IN THE SOCON

A draw or loss to ETSU would keep UNCG at No. 3 or drop the Spartans to No. 4 depending on the result between Wofford and Furman, currently first and fourth in the standings respectively.
