PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team lost both games to Pitt, 7-1 and 14-2, on Saturday at Charles L. Cost Field.
Game One
JT Weaver got the start for game one of two against the Panthers on Saturday. However, Pitt's offense picked up right where it left off yesterday, pushing across four runs in the bottom of the second for an early 4-0 advantage. Weaver grinded out another two innings of work, but another three runs by Pitt in the bottom of the fifth to end his day at four and a third innings pitched with seven hits allowed, sevenruns and three strikeouts. He was relieved by Ethan Nobles who threw the remaining three and two thirds innings with three hits given up.
The Spartans' offense was silencedall game except for Tanner Berry who, in his first collegiate start, went two-for-three with one run scored. That run came in the top of the sixth when Jacob Barbour brought the freshman to bring the game to its final score of 7-1.

Game Two
Game two of the day, third of the series, saw senior Hunter Shuey take the mound for UNCG. However,the right-hander ran into Pitt's red-hot bats, driving in six runs in the first frame then another four in the second to put the Panthers up 10-0 after two. UNCG rallied in the top of the third, scoring two runs thanks to another RBI from Barbour and an additional run from Jake Mueller for making the score 10-2 after three. However, the Spartan pitching staff was unable to keep the Panthers off the scoreboard for long knocking in an additional four runs in the bottom of the six to end the game at a score of 14-2.
