DAVIDSON, N.C. – Ivet Sala-Sánchez collected her first collegiate singles win as the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell to the Davidson Wildcats, 6-1, on Sunday at the Knobloch Indoor Tennis Center in Davidson, North Carolina.

The Wildcats gained the early advantage by securing all three doubles matches. First, Charlotte Calderwood and Ellie Hammond earned a 6-1 win over Sydney Bly and Sofia Somoano at doubles No. 2. Shortly after, Savanna Kollock and Bryson Langford defeated Sophia Cedeno and Lauren Thomson on court one, 6-3, while Olvia Hooper and Keri Rothenberg notched a 6-3 win over Sara Kostic and Sala-Sánchez on court three.

Davidson continued its momentum into singles play by notching five out of six matches. Hammond defeated Thomson, 6-1, 7-5, on court three before Calderwood defeated Bly, 6-3, 6-4, on court four. Kollock earned the match-clinching point for the Wildcats with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, win over Cedeno on court one. Langford defeated Kostic, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (1), on court two, while Rothenberg collected the sixth and final point for Davidson on court five, defeating Somoano, 6-3, 6-0. Sala-Sánchez secured her first collegiate win and first singles win for the Spartans on the 2026 season in a 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Hooper on court six. However, it wouldn't be enough to keep Davidson from securing the 6-1 victory.
