CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 matchup with the Buccaneers of Charleston Southern on Thursday at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center.
Thursday's contest featured match-clinching singles contests and no doubles matches.
Kayley Bushnell put the Spartans on the board first with a 6-1, 6-2, win over Camila Molina at singles No. 6. However, the Bucs snagged the next four matches for the win.
Sydney Bly fell to Amike Botha, 3-6, 5-7, on court five before
Ivet Sala-Sánchez dropped her match with Carle Botha, 4-6, 3-6, at singles No. 4. Carlota Farres took down
Lauren Thomson, 7-5, 6-4, on court three to make it 3-1 Buccaneers. Brenda Yoris secured the match for Charleston Southern in a 3-6, 6-4, 5-3, win over
Sara Kostic at singles No. 2, bringing the final sore to 4-1.
Sophia Cedeno's close matchup with Marina Skegro remained unfinished on court one, 3-6, 7-6, 0-2.
