SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team dropped game three of the series against The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford, 6–3, at Russell C. King Field on Sunday afternoon. Jake Mueller mashed his second home run of the season in the contest.
Neither side gained ground until the bottom of the third inning when Wofford got on the board with three runs from a bases loaded double. However, UNCG's Ayden West came in and held the Terriers scoreless for the next three innings. With the Wofford offense held in check, Mueller jumpstarted the Spartans offense in the top of the sixth with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 3-1. UNCG continued its momentum in the top of the seventh with an Ethan Brittain RBI groundout and a Jacob Dilley RBI double that knotted up the score.
The Terriers responded in the bottom half of the frame to retake the lead with a two RBI single that brought the score to 5-3. Wofford followed up in the eighth with another run to head into the last inning up 6-3. The Spartans were unable to get anything going as the Terriers claimed the 6-3 win.
