CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team dropped its contest at No. 3 North Carolina on Thursday, 4-0, at the Chewning Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels got on the board first after securing two doubles matches. Tatum Evans and Alanis Hamilton defeated
Ivet Sala-Sánchez and
Kayley Bushnell at court two, 6-0. Anna Frey and Thea Rabman earned the 6-1 win over
Lauren Thomson and
Sara Kostic at doubles No. 2 to make it 1-0 North Carolina. The matchup between Maddy Zampardo & Susanna Maltby and
Sydney Bly &
Sofia Somoano remained unfinished at 4-1.
The Tar Heels went on to secure the next three singles matches. Oby Kajuru tallied a 6-1, 6-0, win over Thomson at singles No. 2. Evans defeated Kostic, 6-1, 6-0, on court one. Claire Hill notched a 6-0, 6-0, victory over Somoano at court six for the 4-0 victory.
