Men’s Golf to Conclude Regular Season at Mountaineer Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team will conclude the 2025-26 regular season with the Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by West Virginia on Monday and Tuesday at Pete Dye Golf Course in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

THE FORMAT
The tournament will consist of three rounds with two on Monday and the third and final round on Tuesday. Monday's two rounds will start with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start, while Tuesday's final round will begin at 8:00 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
  • Liam Percy, Will Guidry, Keenan Royalty and Cole Isbell competed individually in the Irish Creek Intercollegiate on April 6-7 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, at Irish Creek Golf Course.
  • Royalty moved up nine spots in the final round to finish on top for the Spartans and tied for 13th place. He notched rounds of 73-72-70 for a two-over-par (215) overall score. His round score of 70 was a season-best.
SPARTANS THIS SEASON
  • The Spartans opened the 2025-26 season with a fifth-place finish hosting the Bryan National Collegiate from Sept. 6-7 at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina. UNCG carded rounds of 293-294-290 for a 13-over-par (877).
  • The Spartans carded an 11th place finish at the Bearcat Invitational on Sept. 16, 2025, at Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. UNCG recorded rounds of 286-283-294 for an overall score of 11-over-par (863).
  • UNCG finished in 10th place at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational at Blessings Golf Course in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Oct. 1, 2025, with an overall score of 61-over-par (925) with rounds of 303-314-308.
  • Dax Isbell, Cole Isbell and Will Guidry competed individually in the Elon Phoenix Invitational. Guidry finished on top for UNCG in a tie for 24th place with a two-under-par (211) total score on Oct. 14, 2025. The sophomore notched rounds of 75-63-73 in the two-day tournament.
  • UNCG wrapped up the 2025 fall slate by finishing in 14th place at the Quail Valley Invitational in Vero Beach, Florida, at Quail Valley Golf Course. The Spartans carded an overall score of five-under-par (859) behind rounds of 286-293-280.
  • UNCG opened the spring slate with a fourth-place finish hosting the Palmas del Mar Collegiate from Feb. 8-10 at Palmas del Mar Flamboyan in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The Blue & Gold recorded rounds of 290-282-281 to finish the three-day tournament with an overall score of 11-under-par (853).
  • The Spartans went back to Puerto Rico to host the Dorado Beach Collegiate from Feb. 22-24. UNCG carded a third-place finish in the event with rounds of 289-286-285 for an overall score of four-under par (860).
  • UNCG finished tied for 11th place in the Sea Island Invitational, hosted by Rutgers from March 9-10 at Sea Island-Plantation Golf Course. The Spartans carded rounds of 278-287-289 for an overall score of 10-under par (854), finishing tied for 11th place with Princeton.
  • UNCG recorded a 16-over-par (880) with rounds of 285-294-301 to finish in 14th place at the Linger Longer Invitational at Reynolds Plantation on March 22.
  • The Spartans finished in 11th place at the Maridoe Collegiate on March 31, hosted by North Texas at Maridoe Golf Course. UNCG recorded 60-over-par (924) behind rounds of 302-316-306.
  • Kelvin Hernandez has been named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Golfer of the Week twice this season (Feb. 11 & Feb. 24), while Dax earned the feat once (April 1).
  • Hernandez is leading the Spartans and sitting at 11th in the SoCon with a 72.63 stroke average this season.
