SoCon Announces Men's Golfer of the Week
 
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Dax Isbell of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team has been named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

Isbell moved up four spots in the final round of the Maridoe Collegiate on Tuesday to finish tied for 25^th place with a 13-over-par (229). The Cumming, Georgia, native carded rounds of 76-76-77 in the tournament, while finishing tied for fourth in the field with 37 total pars in his three rounds. In addition, he posted three birdies in the two-day event.

"Anything I do on the golf course is ultimately worship to the Lord Jesus Christ," said Isbell. "I'm grateful for the good gift of this game and hope that it brings Him honor as I continue to enjoy it."
 
The 25^th-place finish was Isbell's second time recording a top-25 finish this season as he also finished tied for 16^th place at the UNCG-hosted Palmas Del Mar Collegiate on Feb. 10 at Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan.

This is the third SoCon weekly mention for the Spartans this season, as Kelvin Hernandez has earned the feat twice (Feb. 11 & Feb. 25).

Individual Spartans will compete in the Irish Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by App State from April 6-7 at Irish Creek Golf Course in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
