Men’s Golf Concludes Maridoe Collegiate

CARROLLTON, TEXAS – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded the Maridoe Collegiate on Tuesday after the third and final round at Maridoe Golf Course, hosted by North Texas.

TEAM
  • The Spartans finished in 11th place in the two-day tournament with a 60-over-par (924) behind rounds of 302-316-306.
  • UNCG finished ahead of Louisiana Tech and Boston College, respectively.
  • Oklahoma State finished on top of the 13-team leaderboard with an 11-over-par (875).
  • The Spartans finished fifth in the field with 159 pars and tied for ninth with a 4.37 average on par four holes.
INDIVIDUAL
  • Dax Isbell moved up four spots in the final round to finish tied for 25th place with a 13-over-par (229). Isbell carded rounds of 76-76-77 in the tournament. He finished tied for fourth in the field with 37 total pars in his three rounds.
  • Jake Lewis made the biggest leap for the Spartans in Tuesday's final round to move up 13 positions, finishing tied for 27th place. He carded a 14-over-par (230) behind rounds of 74-81-75.
  • Kelvin Hernandez followed closely behind to finish in a tie for 29th place after jumping seven spots in the third round. Hernandez carded a 15-over-par (231) with rounds of 76-78-77.
  • B.J. Boyce also moved up seven spots on Tuesday, finishing tied for 61st place with a 33-over-par (239). Boyce recorded rounds of 76-86-77 in the two-day tournament.
  • Keenan Royalty rounded out the scorecard for the Spartans, finishing tied for 73rd place with a 33-over-par (249) with round scores of 82-81-86.
  • Ethan Fang and Preston Stout of Oklahoma State claimed a tie for first place on the 75-player leaderboard with a one-under-par (215) overall score.

Individual Spartans will compete in the Irish Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by App State from April 6-7 at Irish Creek Golf Course in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
