CLEMSON, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team opened the 2026-27 season on Monday at the Tiger Classic, finishing sixth overall with a 17-over-par (593) at Walker Course in Clemson, South Carolina.
TEAM
- UNCG carded rounds of 296-297 to finish the 36-hole tournament at 17-over-par (593).
- Host school, Clemson, claimed the team title with a 3-over-par (579).
- The Spartans finished ahead of in-state rivals Western Carolina, who placed seventh with a 30-over-par (606), and UNC Asheville, who earned eighth place with a 46-over-par (622).
- Another Southern Conference (SoCon) foe, ETSU, posted a 10-over-par (586) performance, good for fifth place.
- UNCG finished third with 119 pars, fourth in par threes with a 3.25 average and tied for fourth in par fours with a 4.20 average.
INDIVIDUAL
- Senior Elle Burnette led the Spartans, tying for third place with a three-under-par (141) scorecard. Burnette was three-under-par (69) after a tournament-leading round one score, before her even-par (72) performance in round two.
- Classmate Kasey McIlvaine tied for 12th out of 54 competitors. She carded a one-over-par (73) in the first round and then an even-par (72) second round for a total of 145.
- Freshmen Baker Hudson (T-38th), Eva Brown (T-41st) and Wilma Siwers (T-44th) all competed in their first-collegiate tournaments.
- Hudson completed the two-round tournament with a nine-over-par (153), while Brown finished with a 10-over-par (154) performance.
- Siwers rounded out the Spartans' scorecard with a 12-over-par (156) in her first appearance in the Blue & Gold.
