GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team will wrap up a four-game homestand by hosting Coastal Carolina on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and Radford on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at UNCG Soccer Stadium.

UNCG is holding a 3-1 record over the last four games against Coastal Carolina. The Chants defeated the Spartans, 2-0, in the most recent match up on Sept. 12, 2024.
 
The Spartans have the 5-3-1 edge in the overall series against the Highlanders, with the last meeting being on Sept. 18, 1996, when UNCG won 4-2.

ABOUT THE SPARTANS

• The Spartans concluded the 2025 season 4-12-3 overall and 2-4-3 in The Southern Conference (SoCon).
• The Blue & Gold tallied five shutouts and scored 22 goals, which is the most since the 2022 season.
• UNCG defeated No. 10 VMI, 2-0, in the first round of the 2025 SoCon Tournament but fell to second-seeded Western Carolina, 4-3 (OT), in the SoCon Quarterfinal round to conclude the season.
• The Spartans began the 2026 season with two exhibitions, including at Virginia Tech and at Davidson.
• The Spartans were voted to finish seventh in the 2026 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 43 points.
• Senior midfielder Rina Ogimoto was named to the 2026 SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced Monday.
• Ogimoto started in all 19 games last season for the Blue & Gold with a total of 1,465 minutes. She notched a team-best six goals and 14 points, along with two assists, during the 2025 campaign.
• The Spartans added nine newcomers to a roster of 18 returners.
• Sophomore Laney Smith is leading the Spartans' offense with three points (1G, 1A).
• Classmate Madison Bass, junior Bryanna Parkes and freshman Magdalena Krug also have a goal each this season.
• Freshman goalkeeper Blythe Clark has started and played all 270 minutes to start the season, totaling 11 saves and allowing seven goals.
• The Spartans opened 2026 with a 1-0 victory over Triad rival High Point, marking its first season-opening win since 2023.

ABOUT THE CHANTICLEERS

• Coastal Carolina concluded the 2025 season 3-5-8 overall and 0-2-8 in the Sun Belt conference.
• The Chanticleers were voted to finish 11^th in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• Returning players include leading scorer Tamlyn Parkes, who led the Chants with four goals during the 2025 season.
• Pete Cuadrado, formerly head coach at Tarleton State, is entering his first season with the Chants after being announced as the sixth head coach in program history in April 2026.
• The Chanticleers enter the contest 2-1 overall, with shutout wins over Charleston Southern (3-0) and Central Michigan (2-0).
• The Chants return nine players from the 2025 roster and welcome 17 newcomers to the 2026 squad.
• Olivia Lawrence is currently pacing the squad with five points (2G, 1A), while five other Chanticleers have one goal each.
• Aris Lamanna has played all 270 minutes in net, giving up just three goals and tallying 13 saves.

ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS

• Radford concluded the 2025 season 10-5-1 overall and 7-1-0 in the Big South, claiming the Regular Season Title.
• The Highlanders were voted to finish second in the Big South Preseason Poll.
• Radford had Caitlyn Nottingham named Big South Preseason Defender of the Year and Lexi Radvanyi voted Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
• Radvanyi is a two-time All-Big South recipient, who has piled up 159 saves across three seasons as the primary starter in net.
• The Highlanders are 1-2 overall this season, thus far, with a 3-0 victory over Concord, before falling 2-0 to Charlotte and 1-0 to new SoCon foe Tennessee Tech.
• The team returns 20 from last year's squad, including nine seniors.
• Brooke Pearson is currently leading the team three goals and six points.
• Lily Clayton has chipped in two assists and is second on the team in points.
• Radvanyi has given up three goals and has totaled 15 saves in the three games this season.

The Spartans will hit the road for their next three contests. First, they will head to Washington, D.C., to battle American University on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Reeves Field. They will then go to Harrison, Virginia, to play James Madison on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Sentara Park.
