SoCon Announces Men's Golfer of the Week
 
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – B.J. Boyce of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team has been named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

Boyce finished in second place at UNCG's own Bryan National Collegiate on Saturday and Sunday, leading the team to a first-place finish at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina.

"It's nice to finally get a player of the week under my belt," said Boyce. "I've had a lot of close calls over the years but haven't gotten over the finish line. It's a sign of all the hard work I've been putting in and the results are starting to show. It's a good start to the season and I'm looking to notch a few more over the rest of the year."

The Fort Bragg, North Carolina, native carded a 10-under-par (206) total score with rounds of 67-68-71 across the two-day event. He ranked first among the leaderboard with a 4.00 average in par fives and fired three eagles.

UNCG notched rounds of 276-281-281 to finish 26-under-par (838) overall at the Bryan National Collegiate.

The SoCon Golfer of the Week nod is the first for UNCG this season as the Bryan National Collegiate marked the start of the 2026-27 season.

UNCG will travel east to Durham, North Carolina, to compete in the Rod Myers Invitational from Sept. 21-22 at Duke University Golf Club.
