GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team will continue the fall slate traveling east to compete in the 16^th Annual Rod Myers Invitational from Sept. 21-22 at Duke University Golf Club, hosted by the Blue Devils in Durham, North Carolina.

THE FORMAT 
The 14 teams will compete in three total rounds with two on Monday and one on Tuesday. Monday will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and Tuesday's final round will tee off on holes one (starting at 8 a.m.) and 10 (starting at 8:05 a.m.).

SPARTANS LAST SEASON 

• UNCG finished in fourth place at The 2026 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships behind a nine-over-par (861) with round scores of 289-290-282.
• The Spartans carded their best finish of the 2025-26 season at the Dorado Beach Collegiate, notching third place with a three-under-par (285).
• UNCG recorded six top-10 finishes last year.
• Kelvin Hernandez returns for his senior season after earning the automatic bid into the 2026 NCAA Regionals after securing first place in the 2026 SoCon Championships.
• Hernandez fired off rounds of 67-72-65, setting a new course record in the final round.
• The Caguas, Puerto Rico, native's appearance in the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional marked the 10^th time in the UNCG Division I era that the Spartans have made an NCAA Regionals appearance as either a team or individual.
• In addition, it was the second time in his collegiate career competing at the NCAA Regionals.

LAST TIME OUT

• UNCG claimed the team title at its own Bryan National Collegiate last weekend, behind rounds of 276-281-281 for a 26-under-par (838).
• This was the third time out of four years that the Spartans have won the team title.
• The Spartans were the only team that finished under par each round and they led in par fives with a 4.47 average, while also having seven eagles and 56 birdies.
• UNCG had five of its nine golfers finish in the top 10 of the player leaderboard.
• Graduate student B.J. Boyce completed the two-day tournament tying for second place following scores of 67-68-71 for a total of 10-under-par (206).
• Following his performance, Boyce won the third SoCon Golfer of the Week honor of the season on Wednesday; it was the first of his career.
• After two rounds of 67 for Hernandez, the senior posted a one-over-par (73) third round score. He finished in fifth place with his nine-under-par (207).
• Sophomore Reece Sanders, who competed as an individual and made his collegiate debut, moved up 14 spots to tie for seventh. Junior Jake Lewis, who improved 27 spots, matched Sanders' performance.
