PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team is 12
th overall out of 23 teams following the completion of round one on Sunday at the Golfweek Caledonia at Caledonia Golf Club.
TEAM
- UNCG carded a round one score of five-over-par (289) and is 12th overall out the 23-team field.
- The Spartans are tied for 11th with 55 pars and 14 birdies.
- Triad rival High Point is pacing the field with an 11-under-par (273) team score following round one.
- The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe ETSU is third after its four-under-par (280) scorecard, while Mercer is tied for 15th with its 10-over-par (294) performance.
INDIVIDUAL
- Freshman Wilma Siwers had two birdies on both the front and back nine holes to give her a round one score of one-under-par (70), to sit tied for 16th out of 120 competitors.
- Senior Kasey McIlvaine and freshman Baker Hudson are tied for 24th on the leaderboard. Both had even-par (71) performances and three birdies during the round.
- Senior Elle Burnette made one birdie in the opening round and is tied for 89th overall, following a six-over-par (77) scorecard.
- Rounding out the Spartans is freshman Eva Brown, who is tied for 102nd following her seven-over-par (78).

UP NEXT
UNCG will be paired with Lipscomb, Stetson and UNCW tomorrow morning for round two. This pairing will begin on hole one with the first foursome teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
