HARRISONBURG, VA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team fell to James Madison (JMU), 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at Sentara Park.
James Madison took control in the opening half, scoring three times in a 10-minute span. At 15:05 and on the Dukes' fourth corner kick of the game, Holly Minshull found the back of the net after a quick scramble in the six-yard box for a 1-0 lead. Ellie Farrell doubled JMU's score to 2-0 at 20:53, after Olivia Del Toro sent a cross from the left side of the field.
JMU's third goal of the game came at 24:33, when a long ball from Farrell was sent from the right side to Del Toro on the left. Aleigha Arndt was there for the strike to the back left corner of the net for the 3-0 advantage. The Dukes continued to apply pressure to close out the half, racking up nine more shots to finish the opening 45 minutes with 15 attempts to UNCG's one.
In the second half, Minshull added another tally to JMU's total at 68:04 for a 4-0 lead. The Spartans broke through in the 80
th minute, when
Laney Smith scored an unassisted goal, cutting the deficit to 4-1. UNCG continued to battle late, but JMU held on for the 4-1 final.

- Blythe Clark made five saves in the first half, while Cara Robell recorded five in the second half.
- JMU outshot UNCG, 25-2, and held a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal.
