Ranks seventh all-time in three-pointers with 155 entering the season... has an outside shot at 1,000 career points this season... career 37 percent from three-point range... has appeared in all 91 games during his career.
Junior Season (2008-09)
in all 30 games with 17 starts... fourth on the team in scoring last year (8.0 ppg)... knocked down 50 three-pointers on the year, giving him 50 or more for three consecutive years (only Scott Hartzell and Jay Joseph have done it all four seasons)... came on strong late in the season, scoring in double figures in six of the last eight... knocked down 22 of his 54 three-pointers in those seven games... scored in double-figures 10 times during the regular season... was second on the team in assists with 54.
Sophomore Season (2007-08)
UNCG’s first guard off the bench for the majority of the season... appeared in all 31 games with two starts on the year... had 10 games scoring in double figures during the season... made his first eight three-pointers of the game against USC Upstate to set a school record and nearly tie an NCAA record (Nov. 24), finished the night with a season-high 24 points and earned SoCon Player of the Week honors for it... had a streak of 14 straight games with a three-pointer at one point during the season... fifth on the team in scoring with 7.3 ppg... finished the season with 55 three-pointers... his 39.9 percent three-point shooting percentage ranked 12th in the SoCon... UNCG had never had three active players over 100 career three-pointers at the same time until last year (Kevin Oleksiak -146, Koivisto - 137).
Freshman Season (2006-07)
Appeared in all 30 games with 16 starts... UNCG’s top three-pointer shooter at 43.5 percent, which was also the best in the Southern Confererence... Led the Southern Conference in three-point field goal percentage in his rookie season, shooting at a 43.5 percent clip; that was also UNCG’s highest percentage by an individual since Nathan Jameson in 1998-99 and was the eighth-best single-season mark in school history... set a freshman record with eight three-pointers in a game (one shy of Kevin Oleksiak’s school record) in an overtime loss at North Carolina State (28 points) in front of an ESPNU audience... earned his first career start on December 9 at Furman and responded with 17 points, including 12 in the first 11 minutes of the game on four three-pointers... after earning his first start, Toney shot 46.1 percent from three-point range (47-of-102)... scored in double digits five times during the season, knocking down five or more treys in four of those games... his 50 three-pointers was second on the team (behind fellow freshman Mikko Koivisto)... finished the season with a trey in six straight games... was 32-of-70 from three-point range in SoCon play (45.7%)... was just 14-of-38 inside of the three-point arc during the regular season.
Prior to UNCG
All-conference selection at Gaston Day School... attended Phillip O’Barry HS in Charlotte for three years prior to enrolling at Gaston Day as a senior... averaged 15 ppg and 6 rpg at O’Barry HS as a junior... earned NCISAA All-State honors as a senior at Gaston Day, averaging 16 ppg... one of four players from last year’s Gaston Day squad playing in Division I this season.
