Earned two letters for Middle Creak High School and was named to the 2017 NC Powerade State Games, representing Region 3 … in junior season, he finished with a 22-5 record, making it to the third round of the state playoffs … as a sophomore, he made 15 appearances with nine starts to earn a perfect 9-0 record and logged 70.2 innings with a 2.30 ERA and 54 strikeouts … appeared in 15 games with five starts for a 4-1 record as a junior, earning a 1.89 ERA in 35 innings of word with 38 strikeouts … he was a three-sport athlete and earned two varsity letters in basketball as well as competing in football during his sophomore season ... played for the Dirtbags two summers ago, pitching 51.2 innings with a 1.71 ERA giving up 29 hits and recording 62 strikeouts and played for Garner Nationals Legion last summer pitching 30.1 innings with a 1.16 ERA scattering 11 hits with 39 strikeouts.
