Here's a look at the women's programs competing
TCNJ (Trenton, N.J.): In head coach
Joe Russo's final season at TCNJ before he retires, he will compete in his 13th Final Four with the Lions. TCNJ has won three national titles, coming with back-to-back titles in 1993 and 1994 before winning again in 2000. Russo is the only head coach in the women's soccer team's history since its inception in the 1990 season. In its 1-0 quarterfinal win over William Smith,
Nikki Butler scored the deciding goal in the second half to lift the Lions to victory.
Loras (Dubuque, Iowa): The Duhawks are making their first appearance in program history in the national semifinals. They beat Wisconsin-Lacrosse on penalty kicks, 4-3, Sunday with sophomore
Savannah Johnson. Payton McDonnell leads Division III in assists with 24.
Emma Casebolt scored her first career goal during the match. Abby Eriksen (11 goals) and Brynn Jacobi (10) have combined for 21 goals.
Christopher Newport (Newport News, Va.): For the second time in the last three seasons, the Christopher Newport women's soccer team is headed to the national semifinals. Riley Cook scored the 88th score of her career in the 2-1 quarterfinal win over Chicago. Cook has 33 game-winning goals in her career, tying the NCAA all divisions record for both men's and women's soccer set by Nicci Bermudes (Aurora) from 2012-15. The Captains also established a new program record for most games without a loss, running the team's unbeaten streak to 21 games.
Wesleyan (Middletown, Ct.): Grace Devanny's incredible goal just 35 seconds into overtime sent the Cardinals into the national semifinals for the first time in program history. Devanney was named the 2021 NESCAC Player of the Year. This is also Wesleyan's first NCAA Tournament women's soccer appearance in school history. All four of the Cardinals' NCAA Tournament victories have been by one goal.

Here's a look at the men's programs competing
Washington & Lee (Lexington, Va.): This will be the Generals first trip to the national semifinals. Sophomore forward
Adrian Zimmerman scored twice for Washington & Lee in its quarterfinal win over Messiah. Zimmerman's 10 goals and 20 points during the team's four-game NCAA Tournament run stand alone as all-time Division III records, and he has a team-high 16 goals this season. The Generals earned an at-large bid into the Division III Championship the Generals are in the tournament for the sixth straight season.
University of Chicago (Chicago, Ill.): This is the fourth time in program history that UChicago is heading to the semifinals and first time for UChicago Head Coach Pat Flinn. Sophomore
Robbie Pino and junior
Kameron Bloye scored during the Maroons' 2-0 quarterfinal win over North Park. UChicago was 4-3 in the tough University Athletic Association. This is the Maroon's 12th appearance in the NCAA tournament and seventh since 2014.
Connecticut College (New London, Ct.): Sophomore
Jake Creus scored a go-ahead goal and set up two insurance markers to help lift the No. 6 Connecticut College men's soccer team to a 5-4 triumph over No. 7 Tufts in the quarterfinals. With the victory in a rubber match between the NESCAC rivals, the Camels punched their ticket to the national semifinals for the first time in program history and accomplished the feat by knocking out the two-time reigning national champions in the process.
Amherst (Amherst, Mass.): The Mammoths earned one of 21 at-large bids to the tournament. This is the fifth national semifinal appearance for Amherst, which won the 2015 national championship. Amherst is appearing in its 15th straight NCAA tournament and 19th overall since NESCAC institutions began participating in NCAA team championships in 1993. The Mammoths were ranked second in the final NCAA regional rankings. Senior striker
German Giammattei had a weekend to remember as he scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Amherst to a 4-1 win over SUNY Cortland in a third-round contest. He scored the game-winning goal against Middlebury in a 1-0 win in the quarterfinals.
