Male Tri-State Steel Student-Athletes of the Week
September 18 - Tim Baerwalde (men's soccer)
Tim has taken care of business in the classroom this week, works extra in his sport and in the weight room. He is a positive role model and leader. 

September 25 - John Gabelic (men's tennis)
John is always positive. He makes an effort to encourage others.

October 2 - Malachi Gales (baseball)
Malachi is an extremely focused and hard worker in the weight room. He comes in everyday with the intentions of getting better to improve himself and his team. He always has a smile on his face and loves to encourage his teammates to work harder. He is true one of the high energy guys that his teammates love to be around.

October 9 - Ben Salter (men's soccer)
Ben put in the work on and off the field this week in the right way.

October 16 - Andrew Hamilton (men's cross country / track & field)
Andrew has been one of the most consistent leaders in training sessions the last four years. He is consistently pushing himself and his teammates to work harder everyday. His teammates respect him in all aspects of his work ethic. He is one of the most positive leaders at UNCG.

October 23 - Devon Moskowitz (men's tennis)
Devon is a true giver, from his positive energy to his leadership. He is an student-athlete that leaves it all on the table. He is truly one of the hardest workers at UNCG and would do anything for the benefit of his teammates and UNCG.

October 30 - Kenyon Giles (men's basketball)
Kenyon works hard, stays on task, puts forth great effort, is very polite and very responsible.

November 6 - Jonathan Beckert (men's soccer)
Jonathan is authentic and consistent. He shows great teamwork and responsibility.

November 13 - B.J. Boyce (men's golf)
BJ always works hard and pushes other fellow student-athletes in the weight room. He is also always on time and serves as a great teammate and role model for his peers.

November 20 - Tymofiy Khrystyuk (men's tennis)
Tymofiy overall takes care of business on the court and in the classroom.

November 27 - Colin Keck (men's cross country / track & field)
Colin puts in the work each and every day in the classroom, in the community and out on the course or track.

December 4 - Grant Aycock (baseball)
Grant is a team player. He shows a great work ethic in the classroom and on the field each week. 

December 11 - Donovan Atwell (men's basketball)
Donovan embodies the values that come with being a Spartan. He represents UNCG and the men's basketball team with good character on and off the court.

January 22 - Case Kermode (baseball)
Case is someone who is putting in the work to do all the things the right way. He is a well-rounded representation for the baseball team, the athletic department and university.

January 29 - Luke Thomson (men's tennis)
Luke represents UNCG in a positive manner on and off the court. He gets it done in the classroom and is always encouraging to the people around him. 

February 5 - Tyler Steele (baseball)
Tyler demands excellence from himself and is constantly working to become the best he can be. He uplifts his teammates in the weight room, diamond and classroom. He is the definition of a true Spartan.

February 12 - Keenan Royalty (men's golf)
Keenan is a great student-athlete that is always supportive of his teammates and the entire UNCG community. He works extremely hard in the weight room and on the course. His positive personality and encouraging attitude make him a important member of the men's golf team.

February 19 - Samuel Barnard (men's cross country / track & field)
Samuel has been unstoppable on the track this week, breaking program records. In addition to his success this week, he has been positive and encouraging to his teammates and is always there to lift everyone up.

February 26 - Jack Marcotte (men's golf)
Jack has been tearing it up on and off the course. He was named The Southern Conference Co-Golfer of the Week alongside teammate Colin Dutton. He has also been hitting the books hard while going through the season with a "team" mentality.

March 5 - James Harrelson (men's cross country / track & field)
James is the definition of a student-athlete. He excels in the classroom and has a true teammate mentality. James is an extremely hard worker that always goes the extra miles.

March 12 - Sam Murchison (baseball)
Sam has been putting in the work on and off the diamond this season and the results have truly shown on the field. He has been a pivotal piece of the Spartans' pitching staff.

March 19 - Jay Miller (baseball)
Jay has been on fire on the mound this week. He registered a career-high of 11 strikeouts against NC A&T on Saturday, leading the team to a 4-2 win over the Aggies.

March 26 - Santino Inkpen (men's soccer)
Santino does all of the little things right, grinding each and every day while encouraging those around him to grow and get better as well.

April 2 - Jake Colucci (baseball)
Jake has a positive outlook every day and strives to improve every day.

April 9 - Colin Dutton (men's golf)
Colin is a leader on and off the course. He presents a positive attitude each and every day.

April 16 - Domas Kauzonas (men's basketball)
Domas is an incredible teammate, always there to support his teammates during training, games or practice. He is a diligent worker that is always searching to get better everyday.

April 30 - Evan Pena (men's cross country / track & field)
Evan finished first in an event earlier this month at High Point and proceeded to pass his flying test for the Air Force.

Female Tri-State Steel Student-Athletes of the Week

September 18 - Paige Sawicki-Farias (women's soccer)
Paige is a great representative of the women's soccer team and UNCG Athletic programs. She is an extremely hard worker that does extra to improve herself for the betterment of the team and for her own personal growth and excellence. Paige makes sure to always be a positive influence for her team in every environment of women's soccer training.

September 25 - Graylinn Serge (volleyball)
Graylinn is always encouraging and positive to others. She is always willing to help others.

October 2 - Ava Romfo (women's golf)
Ava is an excellent and diligent worker in the weight room. She is also a very helpful and accountable teammate, aiding others with cues and examples. She is also highly competitive, setting the bar high for others.

October 9 - Nya Smith (women's basketball)
Nya is always contentious and puts forth great effort in what she does. She is polite and responsible. 

October 16 - Salem Ward (softball)
Salem is well-rounded, involved with SAAC and continually trying to improve the student-athlete experience.

October 23 - Vicky Sosa (women's cross country / track & field)
Vicky has taken on more of a leadership role this year with her team and has been leading by example. She sets the bar high for herself and her team.

October 30 - Betsy Eatmon (softball)
Betsy is always positive, looks at the bright side, is a silent leader, works hard in the classroom and is a team-player.

November 6 - Serena Henderson (women's cross country / track & field)
Serena is one of the most positive student-athletes on the women's cross country team. She is very supportive of her teammates and she keeps them positive and full of energy.

November 13 - Olivia Gallagher (women's tennis)
Olivia is a team leader, takes care of business in the classroom and is an excellent role model.

November 20 - Jayde Gamble (women's basketball)
Jayde is an extremely hard worker that works hard in the classroom and on the court.

November 27 - Nya South (softball)
Nya is a very sweet and soft spoken person who has been super determined in her preparation ahead of the spring softball season.

December 4 - Makiah Asidanya (women's basketball)
Makiah always works hard and is a great teammate on and off the court. 

December 11 - Chloe Nussbaum (volleyball)
Chloe makes a positive impact at UNCG, whether its on the court or in the classroom. She is always there to uplift her teammates and those around her.

January 22 - Ella Olexa (women's tennis)
Ella is an extremely hard worker that push her teammates and herself in all aspects of training. She is always positive and is the biggest cheerleader for her teammates and UNCG.

January 29 - Azumi Oka (women's soccer) 
Azumi always shares positivity to whoever she is around. She is a great role model and represents UNCG well. 

February 5 - Jailah Clark-Jones (women's basketball)
Jailah is the true definition of a teammate. She is always there to lift up everyone and make a positive impact by the people she is around. 

February 12 - Kaylyn Belfield (softball)
Kaylyn is someone who has great time management skills and brings it consistently. She is an authentic person who truly cares for her teammates and those around her. She put a lot of effort into the concept of teamwork.

February 19 - Khalis Cain (women's basketball)
Khalis has been an absolute force on the court and in the gym. She has been a positive role model for her teammates and always encourages the people around her. She is truly an example of a great leader.

February 26 - Rhyann Jones (softball)
Rhyann puts the "student" in student-athlete. She does all of the little things right both at and away from the diamond. She lifts up those around her and inspires them to be at their best each and every day.

March 5 - Kelly Boyle (women's basketball) 
Kelly is a positive force on and off the court. She is the true definition of what it means to be a teammate. Kelly is always encouraging and willing to to put her team first.

March 12 - Yacine N'Diaye (women's basketball)
Yacine is a great person who played a major role in the Spartans winning this year's SoCon Tournament with her ability to lift up and encourage her teammates as well as those around her.

March 19 - Tenley Douglass (women's cross country / track & field)
Tenley is the true definition of a Spartan. She works hard on the track and in the classroom. She encourages the people around her and lifts everyone up. 

March 26 - Reese Byrd (softball)
Reese has been getting it done on the diamond and in the classroom. She encourages her teammates and is a great leader.

April 2 - Luna Urso (women's tennis)
Luna is always positive, helps her teammates and works hard athletically and academically. 

April 9 - Aylin Baran (volleyball)
Aylin always gives her best effort whether it be on the court or in the classroom. She makes those around her better.

April 16 - Sydney Bly (women's tennis)
Sydney is an outstanding student-athlete that works hard in everything she does. Whether it is weight training, conditioning or practice, she puts 100% effort into everything. Plus she is always positive with her teammates pushing them to perform at a high level.

April 30 - Elle Burnette (women's golf)
Elle is a hard worker that is always willing to put in the extra work. She is a great supporter of her teammates in the weight room and on the golf course.
