2008: Appeared in 12 games for the Spartans in 2008...had a .091 batting average as a true freshman after recording one hit in 11 at-bats...went 1-2 against Connecticut (2/29) with an RBI and a run in his first career game...knocked in run against Clemson (3/11) in the ninth inning.

 

High School: 2007 graduate of Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, NC... played four years and earned three varsity letters for the Tigers under the eye of Donnie Maness... as an outfielder/first baseman he was a two-time all-conference selection (2007, 2006)... in 2007, he was named the Team MVP and was the conference Player of the Year runner-up... the Tigers won both the regular season championship and the conference tournament championship... in 2006, he was named to the Impact Baseball all-state team after leading the conference with a .528 batting average... the team won a school-record 27 games, was the state runner-up, and the conference regular season champions.

 

Personal: Thomas Brent O’Berry... born September 15, 1988 in Greensboro, NC... son of Keith and Cindy O’Berry of Greensboro, NC... father, a dental equipment salesman, is a graduate of UNC Wilmington and played one year of basketball for the Seahawks... mother, an ECU graduate, works as a medical technologist... has two brothers, Rob – 25 and Ryan – 23... also recruited by Elon, Lenoir Rhyne College, and UNC Asheville...majoring in business at UNCG.
